I’ve recently been reading this book:
I have to admit that I didn’t read Built to Last or Good to Great (far too long winded) but this was a pretty good book. But, what I thought was very applicable to BaZi was the quote on the back:
“Whether you prevail or fail, endure or die, depends more on what you do to yourself than on what the world does to you”

I haven’t read the book but when I saw it in Borders and read the paragraph at the back, remembered thinking to myself that it was quite profound too.
I also recall this paragrahph in Elizabeth Gilbert’s book, Eat, Pray, Love:
“Destiny, I feel, is also a relationship…..a play btw divine grace and willful self-effort. Half of it you have no control over; half of it is absolutely in your hands, and your actions will show measureable consequence. Man is neither entirely a puppet of the gods, nor is he entirely a captain of his own destiny; he’s a little of both. We gallop through our lives like circus performers balancing on two speeding side by side horses – one foot is on the horse called ‘fate’, the other on the horse called ‘free will’. And the question you have to ask yourself everyday is – which horse is which? Which horse do I have to stop worrying about because it is not under my control, and which do I need to steer with concentrated effort?”

any bazi explanation for the haze? 12 hot spots in sumatra! Anything to do with Bing Xu month? Or better yet, combination with Yin (Tiger) year to produce fire?
I also note that the worst haze situations took place in 1997 (Ding Chou) and 2006 (Bing Xu) – Fire and Earth.
