I’m planning to write a series of ‘How to Train’ articles.
Addendum:
The title of course is just me being mischievous and making a play on the ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ movie. I will not ACTUALLY be showing you how to ‘train’ a person who is a Jia Wood per se.
According to Google, the term ‘TRAIN’ means as follows:
- create by training and teaching
- undergo training or instruction in preparation for a particular role, function, or profession
- discipline: develop (children’s) behavior by instruction and practice; especially to teach self-control
- prepare: educate for a future role or function
- educate: teach or refine to be discriminative in taste or judgment
Thus, my goal is to talk about the challenges that are faced by the different Day Master’s when it comes to the subject matter of personal transformation and change.
An important concept in BaZi, and one which I personally feel is of great significance, is the concept of ‘Entering the Structure’ 进 格 (very direct translation). Of course, if one wants to be more poetic about it, then one need look no further than the line in Ulysses by Alfred Lord Tennyson:
“That which we are, we are”
Or as Shakespeare put it:
To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man.
The concept of ‘Entering the Structure’ when looking at the Day Master relates to the idea that you should be, what you are supposed to be. You must reflect your Day Master in your actions, deeds, thoughts, mannerism, behaviour and even appearance. In short, walk the walk, talk the talk of your Day Master.
Of course, the other 7 characters in your BaZi impact on your personality, nature, character and traits. And then there’s structure and strength etc. All those things that people obsess about when it comes to BaZi charts. But the real gold is this: the Day Master is the controlling key to your BaZi. It IS who you are. As such, the Day Master takes precedence over all other factors. That is the one aspect of yourself, that WILL and MUST show through and if it doesn’t, then that explains why life isn’t perhaps going for you the way it should. Because you are not doing what you are supposed to do, and being who you are supposed to be.
And that is why it’s important to understand, How to Train your Day Master.
I am looking forward to it! Hope it’ll be more detailed like how to train your DM according to the strength of it and the useful elements.
Anyway, I really enjoy your blog!
Thanks for sharing all these info! =)
No discussion of Useful Elements or Strength of Elements. YAWN. It’s all about the BIG PICTURE folks.
I’m sure it will be very interesting & I will be waiting for your post. 🙂
i heard that ladies who r jia day master tend to have the worst lives amongst the other heavenly stems. what is your opinion? 🙂
So when is the first of the series coming out ? Can’t wait… 🙂
Hi there,
Sounds like an interesting topic…..(looking foward to the article/(s).
I think being true to yourself is perhaps the easy part (if you are only accountable to yourself)….Getting others to ‘accept’ the ‘real’ you….that’s going to take some persuasion….ha, ha:-)
Hi, yes, this is very interesting.
What I’d really like to know is:
“How would you handle PARADOXICAL charts?”
(especially when another strong element causes one to behave in an opposite way from the DM).
Thank you!
MG
When will you be sharing ‘How to train your DM’ series?
