Update 28.2.2010:
Wikipedia has since updated Alexander McQueen’s date of birth to 17 March 1969, which conclusively establishes Alexander McQueen’s Bazi chart as follows:
This presents a different perspective on my original post. The Fu Yin is not a factor now because the Day Master has changed. Notably however, there will be a Fu Yin to this Day Master in 2011, which is the year of Xin Mao 辛 卯.
His passing is listed as 11 February 2010 which is a Ren Chen Day. However, the day before was a Xin Mao Day, and the time of death was not officially noted or established during the inquest. So it’s possible that there was a Fu Yin effect somewhere.
What I want to look at in this post is how information about an individual can sometimes yield clues about their Day Master. As a practitioner, I know that I’m getting better as guessing Day Masters without really seeing a person’s chart – sometimes using Face Reading, but also sometimes using information about the person. Of course, sometimes it’s entirely off the mark. But sometimes, one also hits the target. Which is why confirmation via the actual birthdate ultimately is still important.
The original assumed Geng Yin Day Master (based on the inaccurate Wiki Date) did seem to me to be rather out of sorts with the idea of someone who was known for his outrageous designs and controversial approach to design (as well as being termed l’enfant terrible of the British fashion world). A Geng Yin Day Master would hardly be someone to do outlandish, outrageous things (it simply is not their style) . Equally, Wiki describes McQueen as having been “credited with bringing drama and extravagance to the catwalk” and that he ” often shocked and surprised audiences. The silhouettes that he created have been credited for adding a sense of fantasy and rebellion to fashion”.
These are all the eponymously typical qualities one would associate with a Xin Day Master, using Hurting Officer Star (which suggests that the Ren Chen Hour might well be correct). Indeed, one of the most telling signs to me (in hindsight, which is 20-20) and which sort of made me suspect the 17th as the correct date was that many obituaries and profiles on McQueen listed his great passion as scuba diving.
Xin Metal loves Water, and particularly likes Ren Water. Scuba diving is Ren Water, and particularly can be seen as representative of the Pig 亥 Branch. So it makes a lot of sense that McQueen was a Xin Day Master.
UPDATE/ EDIT: There appears to be a dispute over his date of birth. I have checked a number of websites for obituaries – Wikipedia has it at 16 March 1969 still and the Times obituary lists it as 17 March 1969, along with that of a number of other websites (although one website also listed his year of birth as 1970). Normally Wiki’s information is quite accurate, but so is the Times.
As has been pointed out in the comments section, 17 March makes him Xin Mao Day Master whilst 16 March makes him a Geng Yin Day Master.
There are lots of indications that point at a Xin Mao Day Master, although these then make the suicide a little more complex to work out in terms of it’s motivation. A Geng Yin Day Master could be attributed partly to the effect of the Fu Yin.
His Daymaster was yin metal Rabbit. Yin metal is the star of the show which he was! He was a Rabbit, just like his mother, artistic, diplomatic and sensitive. Too much wealth was what was ruining his health!
@Nicky Fraser – his Day Master is not Xin Mao but Geng Yin.
His birthday is the 17th March 1969. Doesn’t that make him Xin Mao? I’m a little confused maybe u can elaborate
If birthdate is 16 March, DM is Geng Yin. If birthdate is 17 March, DM is Xin Mao. Which is which now?
Based on the latest update in Wiki, his DOB is 17 March 1969.
Could it be the hour difference? If he was born at 11:59 pm, and the midwife recorded it a couple of minutes later, it could account for the discrepancy.
No wonder, Xin using Ding is evil-looking. He has a bad ass approach to fashion. The DM and the most prominent 7K star explains it.
