Beginners to BaZi often find themselves straying down the path of contemplating if one Day Master is above others.
甲 乙 丙 丁 戊 己 庚 辛 壬 癸
Is there a One Day Master that rules them all?
Jia 甲 for example, seems to be stuck in a bit of a disadvantageous position, since pain, means progress for the Jia 甲 . But then, Jia’s wealth is Earth, and out of the 12 Branches, 6 comprise of Earth. So does that mean Jia can make more money?
Similarly, most Bing 丙 will achieve success in life, as long as they are not born at night. How hard is that right? Well, not that hard, until you realise, it isn’t JUST being born in the day. It’s being born at the right time of the day. And depends on which of the six BINGS you are.
Ren 壬 seems highly advantaged when it comes to Wealth, seeing as your Wealth star is the eternal sun. But then again, Ren 壬 is prone to a lack of focus and when the Ji Earth arrives, disarray is certain for them. And Ren Water women frequently are disadvantaged in matters of the heart and matrimony.
I could go on.
At the end of the day, some stems are a little bit harder to ‘qualify’ as superior charts than others. But that means that when they ARE good, they are really good charts. Ultimately, one comes to the realisation that all charts are not created equal, and all Day Masters are not created equal, but what is equal is their inequalities!
love you articles. clear…
How do you determine borderline cases in terms of day master strengths? Say, Geng Metal not in autumn but there is two Dog branches sitting at Year and Hour only? Moreover, some consultants said if you are Geng you are by nature not afraid being weak, hence regarded as strong daymaster ? How true?
Depends on what is Branch under DM. Dog at Year and Hour…I would hesitate to say entirely weak although it would depend on what ELSE is present around the Day Master. On your second question, I assume you mean that Geng is always assumed to be strong? No such ‘assumption’ ever.
Nice post.
