The WordPress Dashboard has a very fun useful little feature – amongst the stats, it shows me what people were searching for, when they arrived at this blog. Here are the searches done for July 10 2008:
Interestingly, there are two questions that relate to Peach Blossom. AGAIN.
And today, in a ‘Power of BaZi’ session, where I was introducing the subject of BaZi, once again, Peach Blossom cropped up. So I figure, hint from the universe. Time to talk Peach Blossom again. I say again because this subject actually seems to endlessly fascinate people (despite the fact that in the grand scale of all things BaZi, it really isn’t THAT big a deal). See my previous blog entry on the subject here.
Observations on Peach Blossom Stars
One: women get worked up over Peach Blossom Stars in their spouse or boyfriend’s chart.
Two: women never ask if THEY have a Peach Blossom Star, nor do they seem particularly concerned that they have a Peach Blossom star in their own chart.
Three: men don’t seem to be interested in Peach Blossom Stars, nor do they inquire about such stars in their wife’s chart.
Somewhere out there, some old wives tale has perpetuated about Peach Blossom Stars and that Peach Blossom Stars = Infidelity. Funny now the old wives tale only relates to infidelity and MEN, not infidelity and women. After all, what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander right? So if a man has Peach Blossom Stars, and the conclusion is he will cheat, the same can be applied to a woman who has Peach Blossom Stars as well surely?
Ladies, GET OVER it with the Peach Blossom.
Cheating is not the exclusive purview of the Peach Blossom Star although it is something to consider.
For that matter, if he didn’t have a Peach Blossom Star, YOU wouldn’t have given him a second look in the first place.
“What is Peach Blossom” and “Peach + Blossom”
Obviously, the second search is just an attempt to see what happens when the equation is put in that way, as perhaps the searching party wasn’t sure if there was such a word in the English vocabulary. For those who are curious, the Chinese name is ‘tou fa’ (Cantonese) or ‘Tou Hua’ (mandarin). The BaZi language speaking will abbreviate it to ‘PB’.
The question “What is Peach Blossom” is simple enough to answer. In BaZi, it is a type of Star and is derived from the Shen Sha method of interpreting BaZi. It is not part of the more modern ‘Zi Ping’ method. Peach Blossom is a star of attraction and likability. It makes people likable, pleasant, nice to be with, amiable, and sometimes, attractive. It does indicate sex appeal sometimes (although that in my view is more likely to be caused by a Seven Killings star) but it also depends on what Ten Gods component the Peach Blossom star is. That’s kicking the answer to the question up a notch.
Peach Blossom is not an infidelity star, or a firm indication that a person will cheat, or have many girlfriends (although if one is attractive, it surely is necessarily likely that one will also have many admirers/torchbearers no?).
Thank you for this blog. It seems like you are pretty knowledgable about BaZi. Yes indeed, people are very interested in PB and at first I got a bit worried to see three different PB’s in my boyfriends chart, but then when thinking logically about it and to see his history of being with women, it is not at all an indicator of being a “player” or a cheater. I guess there are also other factors that play a roll there. Indeed he is very likable, he is the kind of person that nobody would really dislike and he is very nice to everyone, curteous and comfortable. He has not had many encounters with women and it seems to me so far that he is actually extremely loyal 🙂 … he also is born in dog year.
Well, anyway, I thought I would just add a little comment about this since you are saying not to worry too much about this in a person’s chart. I guess one of the charts you talk about gives more reason to be worried, and that is when a person has the jealousy combo, the woman you mention who has all her pillars PB AND also has her zheng guan element on both sides of her DM. Now that could indicate trouble in marriage and infidelity.
I would also like to add here about marriage in a PB year.
If a couple has the same star as marriage star, one of them for the DB and the other for the YB … would that make a good year to marry for that couple even though their zheng guan and zheng cai elements are not present that year?
Another question is what if marriage star, hong luan, hong yan and peach blossom are all the same star for a person? This is the case in my own bazi, hong luan for my YB is Mao and Mao is also hong yan for Bing DM and it is PB for my DB (Yin Tiger)!!! And as my LP Gui Mao is coming up soon it is very interesting to know what this means. Gui is my zheng guan element. Also because I am thinking if it would be a good idea to marry in Mao year, but that would mean it is in the beginning of Mao LP also 🙂
Do you consider PB years to be bad years to register marriage?
I know that of course for date selection we need to look at the whole picture, and both charts. But what are the factors you would consider to be ideal? As I say above, Mao year is in start of my Mao LP and Mao seems to be my PB, hong luan and hong yan while it is also his PB and hong luan for his day branch I believe. Although he will be starting his Ren Zi LP that year and it is his output and water is nourishing his spouse star which is yi wood as his DM is Geng (DB is Zi/rat).
Well, I thought maybe it is interesting to have more insight into PB concerns. But I don’t expect you to give me advice, but rather just discuss it from BaZi standpoint and to generally know if some cases PB can actually be a good thing for a couple and not necessarily always indicating outside romances or affairs.
I will be writing on Wedding Date Selection in the next one or two posts so chck back then.
Just as a note – you are using the Shen Sha in tandem with the Zi Ping method – why confuse yourself? There’s a reason why Zi Ping came up and chucked all the Shen Sha stuff out the window. Some of it is just plain not helpful.
Question on the WordPress dashboard. Does every WordPress user have this feature? (Where they show the results of the searches that people were looking for before they arrived at this particular blog)
Does it ever show the dates these searches took place? Thank you.
Question to Learner: What are you reading? You mention Jealousy issues, and the DM surrounded by DO stars? Could you direct me to this article? Thanks.
Yep.
BaziQ,
Regarding my question about the Word Press dashboard, is this feature referring to the Search box found on your webpage? or is this counting search engines your readers use, such as google? Again, thank you.
